A brief history of Gordon's Garage

Gordon's Garage existed for many years in Marin County, just north of San Francisco. After five years as a factory trained BMW technician at a dealership he ventured on his own and soon had a loyal clientele at his own shop, at first specializing in BMW and Mercedes. Gordon has always specialized in unusual problems having a rare mechanical vision and tremendous patience to do a job correctly..no short cuts!

After years in Marin, Gordon sold his business and took a position teaching automotive students in Portland at Clackamas Community College.

Gordon's next move was to Carrera Motors in Bend as a BMW tech, a position he had for five and a half years. Finally he was able to get back into his own business out of his home in Redmond, near Eagle Crest. Gordon enjoys working one on one with his customers, explaining the work needed or as in many cases, not needed on their cars. He is happiest when he can give his customers his full attention without the pressure to get the cars out the door as quickly as possible.

Gordon is one of the very few people in Central Oregon who has expertise in British automobiles such as MG, Austin Healy, Jaguar, Rover, Bentley, Rolls Royce and Sterling.

Gordon has won several top honors on the restoration of his own 1930 Packard. Some of his other achievements are:

Mechanical Restoration of the 1963 MGB featured in the magazine Special Interest Autos, March/April 1995
Judge at the prestigious Concours d’Elegance in Forest Grove. Oregon.
Mechanical Restoration of a 1924 American LaFrance pumper fire engine for the Mill Valley Fire Department in Marin.
His own car featured in the book by Beverly Rae Kimes “The Classic Era” published by the Classic Car Club of America.
A second mechanical restoration by Gordon to be featured in the same book was a 1941 Lincoln owned by Rear Admiral Thomas Patterson.
